CatRock Ventures

CatRock’s vision is to reach, inspire, and empower the next generation of environmental, community, and business leaders from underserved communities.

We invest in Bronx youth by providing transformative outdoor experiences, community service learning opportunities, and academic support to help young people become socially responsible change-makers.

Young Women Who Crush

YWWC is a rock climbing and leadership development program serving young women and gender-expansive youth. YWWC empowers its participants to recognize their own power and potential through climbing, mentorship, and community. The YWWC program empowers girls to become not just climbers, but leaders in their communities and the outdoors. YWWC has built a safe space for dialogue around issues related to gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality, and other dimensions of identity.

Like you, HBCUs Outside wants to see more Black faces enjoying spaces that are currently lacking in color, such as running trails, climbing mountains, and sitting at outdoor industry boardroom tables. The optimal way to accomplish that is by empowering Black leaders to welcome them. HBCUs Outside is designed to sustainably advance diversification of the outdoors. We work to be that bridge for students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities, the best and brightest of America’s future Black leaders. That’s how we make an impact in outdoor sports, on our society, and for our environment.
