When is the best time to visit?

The summer months are a great time to visit as they’ll be warm and beautiful. Snowshoeing around the rim, however, is truly a unique way to experience this magical park!

What will the weather be like?

The weather will be comfortable in the summer months, likely staying in the 70s and possibly reaching into the 80s. Other times of the year, you may experience some rain and/or snow.

What highlights might I see?

Crater Lake itself is truly a highlight! It is the deepest lake in the continental US, making the color of the water truly spectacular. The park is also full of unique wildlife, wildflowers, and so much more.

Will I see wildlife?

This is also the only place where you can spot a Mazama newt!
