This sample itinerary provides an action-packed adventure in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Every itinerary can be completely customized for your group. We can help you book accommodations, or help you with a self-guided itinerary.
Weather
Yellowstone and Grand Tetons have very extreme weather – in fact, the highest recorded difference in temperature in a 24-hour period was recorded in Montana at over 100 degrees! September can be very comfortable and dry in the day, but get quite cold in the evenings with highs in the 70s and lows in the 30s. It can snow any month of the year and often does!
Intensity – Moderate
Expect to spend up to 6 hours per day walking or hiking (up to 10 miles and 2500ft elevation change) while carrying day packs with water and snacks! Suitable for most fit people with a bit of hiking experience.

You will want to fly into Jackson Hole or Bozeman Airport.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in Jackson, WY. After settling into your hotel, meet your guide for an introductory hike up Snow King Mountain.
Day 2
You’ll spend a full day in Grand Teton National Park, touring alpine meadows, glacial lakes, spotting wildlife, and hitting the trails with your Good Trip guide.
Day 3
Today you’ll spend three hours floating the most scenic stretch of the Snake River, all within Grand Teton National Park. In the evening, you’ll visit the historic Jackson Hole Rodeo.
Day 4
You’ll spend a full day in Yellowstone National Park, touring geothermal features, spotting wildlife, and hitting the trails with your Good Trip guide.
Day 5
Today, you’ll meet your guide for a full-day fly-fishing adventure on the Madison River.
Day 6
You’ll meet your Good Trips guide for a full day on the trails of Yellowstone National Park. The hike will be tailored to your abilities and interests but will allow you to visit some of the hidden gems of the park.
Day 7
Today, you’ll head to the Northern section of the park to explore the Lamar Valley and Mammoth Hot Springs. You’ll want to bring your bathing suit to take a soak in one of the area’s many natural hot springs!
Day 8
Hit the trails for a full-day horseback riding adventure with one of the oldest outfitters in Montana.
Day 9
Today you’ll say goodbye to the west as you head to the airport for your departure.
You may want to combine this itinerary with Glacier National Park!
