Highlights

Once in the park, you’ll get your first look at the canyon from Mather Point. Here, you’ll witness the morning light as it plays across the canyon in a variety of colors and shadows.

Next, you’ll embark on the hike of a lifetime down the South Kaibab Trail to Ooh Ahh Point. This overlook into the canyon provides an uninhibited view within the canyon – a stunning backdrop for family photos and selfies alike.

In the afternoon, we will visit one of the many museums along the rim – the Yavapai Geology Museum, Kolb Studio, or the Bright Angel History Room. Each of these museums are situated right off the south rim and offer one last view of the canyon before departure.

Trip FAQ’s

What will we see?

Your guides will take you off the beaten path for never ending sights, mesa views, and more. Learn about how the canyon was formed, the park’s flora and fauna, park history, and indigenous people!  Your day may include a few stops such as Mather and Grandview Points, Tusayan Ruins, & Desert View.  Alternatively, your group may choose to do a longer hike such as Cedar Ridge or Ooh Ahh Point winding you down a trail with some of the most stunning views of the park.

Will my tour run?

For an authentic and personalized experience, our small-group tours are limited to 8 guests, and require a minimum of 4 guests to run. You’re welcome to book solo or with a small party. If we fall below the minimum spots booked, registrants can opt for a private tour or receive a full refund—offering flexibility for your adventure plans.

When & where will I be picked up?

Pick up time: Refer to the designated start time listed when you booked your trip.  Your guide will message you 1-2 days in advance to confirm details.

Pick up location: Park & Ride lot – Coyote Lane, XVGF+Q8, Tusayan, AZ 86023

Can we adjust the start time or trip length?

We will stick to our pickup time and trip length for our small-group tours. For a fully customized trip, we recommend considering our private tour options.

What do we do for lunch?

Please pack a lunch to bring with you. Your guide will choose the perfect spot for a scenic picnic. We’ll also have snacks and a selection of beverages available, but feel free to bring along any personal favorites you might crave during the day.

What should I bring?

Reusable water bottle, sunscreen, day pack, layers to adjust to changing temperatures, camera, gratuity for your guide, packed lunch.

Are there age requirements?
  • They say age is just a number and we (mostly) agree! However, group dynamic considerations, we do have a minimum age of 8 on our small group departures. But there’s no maximum!
  • If you have someone under 8 in your group, we can accommodate all ages on a private adventure, so let’s talk!
Do I need to tip my guide?

Tipping is a common way to say thanks to your guides for all their hard work. While it’s never expected, it’s always appreciated! A good rule of thumb is to tip 10-20% of the total trip cost, split between the guides. Ultimately, the amount is up to you and should reflect the level of service you feel you received. Whatever you choose, the guides will appreciate it!
