Hike to Camp Muir

Join an expert guide and climb to Camp Muir.

You’ll spend a full day hiking to Camp Muir, the highest point on Mount Rainier you can go without technical mountaineering gear and is the base camp for many climbers’ summit attempts. Over the course of your 8.4 mile round trip, you’ll hike from alpine meadows – filled with marmots and mountain goats – over the rocky glacial moraine to an altitude of 10,000 feet. Get ready for views of the other behemoth Cascade peaks including Hood, St. Helens, Jefferson, and Adams.
