OUR PRACTICES
Beyond Good
At Good Trip Adventures, we strive to provide trips that are good for our clients, good for others, and good for the planet. To accomplish this, we have set ourselves a goal: in two years, we will become a part of 1% for the Planet and become a certified B-corp. Our company will focus on transparency in business, investment in community development, and a dedication to the environment. We are mindful of our partnerships and only work with companies we believe in – we even use local banks so that our money can’t be used to fund projects we don’t believe in. We’re committed to putting more good into our world.
Master Volunteers
Our team is passionate about giving back. In their free time, our staff and guides participate in a wide range of volunteer initiatives. Projects have included Adventure Scientists’ Wildlife Connectivity Project (tracking the human impact of roads on wildlife), Yellowstone Invasive Species Culling (helping biologists locate and remove invasive plants), and Pacific Northwest Search and Rescue. From trail maintenance to youth development, our employees care about doing good.
Land Acknowledgements
Good Trip Adventures recognizes that our trips take place in the ancestral homelands of Native American peoples, and we acknowledge those peoples on our site.
These acknowledgments are not in place of actionable support for local Indigenous communities. Read about our land acknowledgement.
Inclusive Outdoors
At the core of what makes a Good Trip Adventure is a commitment to all people accessing the outdoors. People with disabilities, BIPOC, and the LGBTQIA+ community are welcome on our trips, and are represented on our guide team. If there are any barriers to you joining us on an adventure, please reach out to info@goodtripadventures.com so we can make a Good Trip happen for you.
Sustainability
We understand that travel is one of the largest contributors to climate change. We also know that travel can make people feel connected to our planet and motivate them to protect it. Our mission is to offer travel that minimizes impact on the earth.
We work closely with the parks we visit to ensure that we’re using trails and itineraries that are not impacting overused lands. Our Good Trip Adventures guides are trained in Leave No Trace practices, which they share with every group. We aim to use reusable or compostable products whenever possible and encourage our groups to do the same. We currently offset 50% of the carbon footprint of every flight and we encourage our guests to offset the rest. Even our uniforms are made from recycled materials and printed using environmentally-friendly screenprinting!
Of course, there will always be chances to improve and we are committed to staying up-to-date with best practices. If you have any ideas of how we can limit our impact, we’d love to hear from you!
