DAY Hikes

Yellowstone Day Hike

Let us pick a custom hike for you in Yellowstone National Park. Just tell us what you’re looking for and our guides will find the perfect place for your group.

Beaver Ponds

Starting off at the iconic Mammoth Hot Springs, Beaver Ponds Trail climbs steeply up over Mammoth and onto a plateau below Sepulcher Peaks. Enjoy views of Paradise Valley as you approach the ponds.

Elephant Back

This lollipop loop ambles through an open, lodgepole pine forest before easily moving above the treeline, opening up to dramatic views across Yellowstone Lake to the Absaroka Wilderness to the East.

Fairy Falls

View the fantastic colors of grand Prismatic Spring before continuing through a new growth forest to the largest, front-country waterfall in Yellowstone.

Seven Mile Hole

This trail combines Yellowstone’s best features – the rugged beauty of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, coniferous forests, robust wildlife, and active geothermal features along the trail.

Mount Washburn

Following the trail up from Dunraven Pass, you will travel up the side of the mountain to a fire lookout with views all the way to the Tetons. Lush carpets of wildflowers will surround you in late spring and early summer.

Bunsen Peak & Osprey Falls

Hike up the shale-covered face of Bunsen Peak to overlook the Golden Gate of Yellowstone and Paradise Valley. On a clear day, look south and see if you can find the Grand Tetons, peeking over the horizon.

Yellowstone River Overlook Trail

Start with a gentle climb to a ridgeline above the Yellowstone River where you will see Calcite Spring, columnar basalt caves, and the hoodoos of Tower Falls. Keep your eyes peeled among the sagebrush for bighorn sheep.

Lone Star Geyser

The trail to Lonestar Geyser follows a service road beside the Firehole River and provides easy access to Yellowstone’s many backcountry geothermal features. The geyser erupts every few hours, so enjoy the show!
