Trip FAQ’s
What will we see?
Zion National Park- Utah’s first named national park. Today is all about seeing some of Zion’s most famous canyons, carved out over millions of years by the Virgin River. Your day may be spent hiking the Narrows, Emerald Pools or Court of the Patriarchs. Alternatively, your group may choose to do shorter stops like Riverside Walk, Orderville Canyon, or Mystery Falls. Your guide will spend the day teaching you about the unique geology of the area and its story of human history.
Will my tour run?
For an authentic and personalized experience, our small-group tours are limited to 8 guests, and require a minimum of 4 guests to run. You’re welcome to book solo or with a small party. If we fall below the minimum spots booked, registrants can opt for a private tour or receive a full refund—offering flexibility for your adventure plans.
When & where will I be picked up?
Pick up time: Refer to the designated start time listed when you booked your trip. Your stop may be anytime within a half hour from that time. Your guide will message you 1-2 days in advance to confirm more precise timing, which is based on the number of folks in the group and their pick up locations.
Pick up location:
First stop – Springdale hotels
Second stop – Paid parking at Zion Outfitter ($30+) 7 Zion Park Blvd, Springdale, UT 84767
Can we adjust the start time or trip length?
We will stick to our pickup time and trip length for our small-group tours. For a fully customized trip, we recommend considering our private tour options.
What do we do for lunch?
Please pack a lunch to bring with you. Your guide will choose the perfect spot for a scenic picnic. We’ll also have snacks and a selection of beverages available, but feel free to bring along any personal favorites you might crave during the day.
What should I bring?
Reusable water bottle, sunscreen, day pack, layers to adjust to changing temperatures, camera, hat, hiking shoes/boots or tennis shoes with a good tread, gratuity for your guide, packed lunch.
We strongly recommend renting gear for hiking the Narrows. If you are not planning to rent gear, we recommend bringing a solid wooden walking stick or trekking poles you feel comfortable putting your entire weight on. We also recommend wearing secure, slip-resistant shoes and clothes you are comfortable with getting wet. Wading pants will be required Oct – June.
Are there age requirements?
They say age is just a number and we (mostly) agree! However, group dynamic considerations, we do have a minimum age of 8 on our small group departures. But there’s no maximum!
If you have someone under 8 in your group, we can accommodate all ages on a private adventure, so let’s talk!
Do I need to tip my guide?
Tipping is a common way to say thanks to your guides for all their hard work. While it’s never expected, it’s always appreciated! A good rule of thumb is to tip 10-20% of the total trip cost, split between the guides. Ultimately, the amount is up to you and should reflect the level of service you feel you received. Whatever you choose, the guides will appreciate it!
